Attendance:
Section 22 of the EDUCATION
REFORM ACT (1990) states that all children between the ages of 6 and
15 must attend school at all times that the school is open for
instruction.
Regular attendance at school
is essential to assist students to maximize their potential.
Frequent absences from school and / or late arrivals to, and early
departures from, school are detrimental to a child’s learning,
disruptive to the learning of others, and draws on the resources of
the school through the essential process of recording times of
arrival and departure.
Parents and carers are
required to ensure that their children arrive at school on time,
stay all day, and attend regularly. All unexplained absences and
repetitive late arrivals and early departures are checked by the
Home School Liaison Officer, who then makes recommendations as to
action taken. Please note that leave from school for an extended
period of time requires an Exemption Application to be completed by
the Parent / Carer.
