Principal’s News:

As you may have seen in the Weekly Times newspaper last week the school will be celebrating Education Week with a multicultural lunch on Wednesday 27th May. Come and visit your child’s class at 12:30pm and then join them for lunch at 1:00pm. We ask that you bring or send in with your child a plate of food on this day so that your child’s class can enjoy the rich variety of foods available.

Year 3 and Year 5 students completed the national testing in Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) last week. All students across Australia in these years, as well as Year 7 and Year 9 in High School, participate in this testing. Well done to all our students who were required to concentrate over a long period of time.

The Connected Classroom has been installed with a new interactive whiteboard and video conferencing equipment.

Our school will be represented by 48 runners at the Zone cross country tomorrow.

Dear Parents,

1.    The P&C Meeting tomorrow night will be held at 7pm. We are hoping that the earlier starting time will allow more parents to attend. The meeting should conclude by 8:30pm. Child minding is provided at no cost and your children will be home in time for bed. At the meeting the new connected classroom can be inspected.

2.    The Student Representative Council will be holding a mufti day on Thursday May 21 to help disabled children. All Students are asked to make a donation of a gold coin to wear mufti.

3.    The annual Chinese Eisteddfod is being held next Saturday May 23 for non native speakers and the following Saturday May 30 for native speakers at Strathfield Girls’ High.
