Principal’s News:

Dear Parents,

We are having a problem with the supervision of children after school. Some children are playing after school without parental supervision. Children should generally go straight home after school unless they are with a parent. Also children are playing in areas away from their parents and are therefore unsupervised. Children should be in close proximity to their parents and parents should be actively watching their children if they are playing in the school grounds.

There are opportunities to improve our school through the Commonwealth Governments economic stimulus package.

The school is making the following proposals.

Two new classrooms above the K-2 toilets in F Block.

An early childhood/school preparation centre to replace the weatherboard building at the corner of Endeavour and Bennett Streets (currently 1J and 1B classrooms).

Upgrade of the Hall floor, lighting, and roof drainage.

Upgrade of electrical capacity.

External and internal (classrooms) painting of the entire school.

An upgrade of the 3-6 toilets has already been approved from State Government funding and (possibly) a school security fence.

Dear Parents,

1. The P&C Meeting on Wednesday 18^th March will be discussing the school projects. We will also be discussing fund raising possibilities at the West Ryde Easter Parade to be held on Saturday 4^th April.

2. Parent/Teacher interviews will be held on Tuesday 24^th March for classes K-2 and on Wednesday 25^th March for classes 3-6. You will be getting a note on Thursday at which you can nominate times for this interview. Interviews will be 10 minutes at which you can discuss your child’s particular needs.
