CANTEEN NEWS The canteen will be closed the last week of Term 1 (7-9^th April) and the first week of Term 2 (29-30^th April) The canteen will reopen on Tuesday 5^th May. New Price List is attached. This is an opportunity to discuss any individual learning issues for your child - particularly work habits and social/emotional needs identified during Term 1. The interviews, however, are not intended to provide a comprehensive report on your child’s level of achievement. This will addressed in the mid year report to be sent home at the end of next term. Our major application for the Commonwealth Government’s stimulus package is now for 6 classrooms to replace the weatherboard and metal portable buildings. These would be large classrooms with wet areas and computer bays within a 2 storey building so we would not lose any playground space. We are also hoping to upgrade the school hall, paint all internal and external areas of the school, insulate the ceilings in A and F block and upgrade the power supply. Dear Parents, 1. The P&C will be holding a cake stall at the West Ryde Easter Parade and Fair on Saturday 4^th April. We need parent volunteers to sell the cakes. If you could spare an hour (or more) of your time to help the school it would be greatly appreciated. We are also asking for donations of cakes and hot cross buns from all the school community. Also don’t forget to send in Easter eggs for our Easter raffle. A book of 10 raffle tickets are being sent home today for you to sell. Please put any money collected in an envelope with ticket stubs and return to the school office marked ‘For P&C’. 2. Students are invited to be part of the Easter parade. West Ryde Public School will be using the theme of Recycling in the parade, so students should dress up with messages around this theme. 3. Vacation Care Programs are now available to be held at school during the upcoming April holidays. Please see Kathryn Bova at After School Care or phone on 9858 5114. A fun time is guaranteed.
