CANTEEN NEWS The Canteen will not be open during the first week of Term 3. Mid Year Reports for most classes were sent home yesterday. This is a mid year report so students can improve their achievements for the end of the year. Please take the time to sit down with your children to discuss their report and what areas the student needs to work on. Congratulations to our Year 6 students who were successful in obtaining Selective High School placement for next year. Eleven of our students have succeeded in gaining places in schools such as North Sydney Girls, James Ruse, Girraween, Fort Street, Baulkham Hills, Sydney Girls, Ryde Secondary and North Sydney Boys. Selective High School placement is just one pathway to success. Our other Year 6 students will achieve their own academic and personal successes at whichever High School they attend. Good students (and West Ryde PS has many) will do well at whatever High School they attend. Thank you to everyone who submitted a school fence survey. The results were 91 responses in favour of a fence with 24 responses against. Construction of the fence is expected in the next 12 months. Next term we will be practising for our big whole school performance in Week 8. There will also be a Family Bush Dance in Week 10. Finally I would like to congratulate all students on a hard working term and wish you a safe and fun filled holiday. Dear Parents, 1. School recommences for students on Tuesday July 28. 2. Vacation Care Programs are available at school during the holidays. Contact After School Care on 9858 5114 3. The School Athletics Carnival will be held on Thursday 30thJuly at Dunbar Park, Marsfield. All Students will attend (K-6). Parents are are invited to attend.
