Student Representative Council
Members of the Student Representative Council are drawn from Years 1 – 6. The representatives are elected by their class peers. The SRC meets regularly. Issues for school improvement are discussed at meetings by class representatives. Class representatives are required to report back to their peers following each meeting. SRC representatives are involved in hosting special assemblies and coordinating fundraising events. Their suggestions and contributions to the school are highly valued.
Peer Support
The Peer Support program aims to develop leadership skills in Year 6 students and promote a caring and secure environment for all children. Students from kindergarten to Year 5 meet regularly over an 8 week period. The meetings aim to develop social skills, friendships and confidence in all students. These groups are led by Year 6 students and incorporate a range of activities from the schools’ Personal Development and Health curriculum.
School Captains and Vice Captains
School Captains and Vice Captains are chosen each year from the Year 5 students entering into Year 6. Students can be nominated by their peers or teachers. Once nominated, children participate in a process to elect captains and vice captains (see Appendix 1, below).
The role of school captains
is an honour and a responsibility. School Captains assume many

Teachers plan and work co-operatively to organise opportunities for the classes to work together on a variety of activities including reading, art and craft, maths games and picnic days.
Friendships, co-operation,
teamwork and kindness to fellow students are fostered through this
program
Sporting House Captains and Vice Captains
At the beginning of each year House Captains and House Vice Captains are chosen by members of the four (4) sporting groups – Fraser, Newcombe, Mackay, and Bradman.
These students assume responsibility of organising and motivating their sporting house at the three (3) major carnivals during the year (Swimming Carnival, Athletics Carnival and Cross Country). They are also called upon to give sports reports, collect house points and monitor sports equipment during lunchtimes.
